When is it time to ask about Hospice? | Hospice

Hi Reader,

Episode 36 Is Now Live

When is it time to ask about Hospice?

If someone you love with dementia is falling, getting repeated infections, losing weight, or starting to have trouble swallowing, you do not have to figure it out alone.

In Episode 36, I explain the signs that may mean it is time to ask for a Hospice evaluation—and the difference between requesting an evaluation and automatically qualifying for Hospice.

We also discuss how Palliative Care can support families earlier, when safety, nutrition, medications, and caregiver needs become harder to manage.

Hospice can meet patients wherever they live: at home, in assisted living, or in a nursing home. Asking for an evaluation is not giving up. It is asking for guidance and support during a difficult time.
